Harvey Points of Pride
Jack Harvey Elementary is a state-of-the-art educational facility with advanced technologies available throughout the building to facilitate 21st century teaching and learning opportunities that prepare our students for the global society in which they live.
Every member of our teaching staff is highly qualified under the federal No Child Left Behind guidelines and committed to pursuing professional development and continuing education.
Our Jack Harvey Volunteer (JHV) parent/teacher organization is very active in providing enrichment and fundraising activities for our students that support our UCS educational programs. The JHV sponsors many activities throughout the year, including skating parties, restaurant nights, the daddy-daughter dance, the mother-son night, walk-a-thon, field trips, school T-shirts, assemblies, field day, and March is Reading Month, along with supporting our teachers by purchasing special technology items and classroom materials. We are proud of our partnership with our JHV and our staff.
Jack Harvey Elementary school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities for students, including Science Olympiad, Math Olympiad, Social Studies Olympiad, Running Club, ATG (for academically gifted and talented students), the annual talent show, the annual art fair, Service Squad, Safety Patrol, and Student Council. Student Council supports the annual Kiwanis Canned Food Drive, reaching out to support families in need. Several Jack Harvey students are members of the Kindness and Caring Club (KC Club). The KC Club student members and teacher sponsors plan service learning projects throughout the school year as well as activities that promote school pride. Students in the club have raised money for charities and the local community.
Community partnerships with Oakland University, the UCS Reaching Across the Generations Senior Stars Volunteer Program, and the Sterling Heights Fire Department and Police Department have enriched our educational programs and provided additional resources for our staff and students.
