    Good afternoon Titan community,

Senior families, as we enter my favorite time of the year, it's crucial to remind our seniors that their journey is far from over. With just two weeks left in the school year for our seniors, it's important they stay focused on passing their classes, acing exams, and avoiding any loss of credits due to tardiness, absences, or poor decisions.

We've had our Senior Meetings and awards ceremonies and recognitions are happening almost daily. This is the perfect time to discuss making good choices. One key message I want to emphasize is that a split-second decision can have significant consequences for your child. In my 12 years of graduating seniors, I've only had to refuse commencement once. I am very clear about how disciplinary actions at this stage can impact opportunities such as prom, honors night, and commencement.

I remind our seniors that missed opportunities are a result of their own choices. We are all accountable for our actions and choices made outside of school are equally important. As the weather warms up, please remind your students to stay safe and make positive decisions. We want to celebrate their success at the end of the year and not mourn any losses.

Let's work together to ensure a successful and joyous conclusion to this school year.

Outstanding fees are posted in PowerSchool.  Fees need to be cleared before the end of the school year, each year.  Students with outstanding fees cannot purchase parking permits or participate in extracurricular activities: including Field Trips, Athletics, Titan Days, Homecoming, and Prom, until all fees are cleared, or on a payment plan.  Seniors with outstanding fees will not receive their diplomas until all fees have been paid.  Payments can be made on PaySchools Central, www.payschoolscentral.com, or in person with cash/check in the bookstore.  Contact Remi Darroch, Bookkeeper, with any questions regarding fees, 586-797-1903, remi.darroch@uticak12.org

Fourth-quarter Progress Reports will post to Powerschool this afternoon.

A quick reminder of important dates: The 4th quarter concludes on June 11, and final report cards will be posted on June 18.

UCS Staff Appreciation Shout Outs – Do you know of any teachers, administrators or support staff who made a difference this year?  In honor of Employee Appreciation days, email your “Shout Outs’ to UCS@uticak12.org.  They will be shared on social media and with the staff directly beginning May 1, 2025. See the flyer in the Titan Voice.

                   Senior All Night Party

    Laptop Collection for Seniors

Seniors will turn in their UCS laptops during their English classes May 22 - 23.

Virtual Students can turn in their laptop on Friday, May 23 from (8:30 a.m. -10:00 a.m.)

Seniors can turn in laptops early if they are not required for classes, starting May 19.

*Laptops will be assessed for damages; any fees related to damage are due prior to receiving your Graduation tickets. Seniors can see Mrs. Patalon in the Media Center to check for damages at any time. If you know of a current problem or if there is damage to your laptop, please see Mrs. Patalon immediately.

To make this process easier and less time consuming on their last day, we will be collecting the SENIOR laptops after they take their English exams on Thursday 5/22 and Friday 5/23. (As long as they do not need it for another exam)

Please be sure Senior students do the following BEFORE going to the Media Center:

    1. Ask if the students will need laptops for another exam (if they do, obviously, we cannot collect them).
    2. Make sure the laptops are ON and they have their charging cord wrapped up before they go to the Media Center.  This will speed up the process.
    3. Remove ALL PERSONAL stickers from laptop without damaging device or they will be charged.

Any other questions or concerns, please have your student send a Teams message Lisa Patalon or see her in the Media Center.

AP textbooks are to be returned inside the Media Center. They are too large for the book return slots outside the Media Center.

There will be a sign on the counter where they can stack the textbooks to be returned.

    Graduation Ticket Information

Seniors will receive their Graduation Tickets AFTER they provide the signed Acknowledgement of Senior Meeting form, turn in their UCS laptop, and pay all outstanding fees, including any assessed damaged laptop fees.

    SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Senior Scholarship opportunities are continuously updated and can be found on our Stevenson Counseling Website under "scholarships". You can find the link here: Counseling / Scholarships

If a student has a question regarding a scholarship process, please feel free to email or TEAMS Ms. Sullivan.

Communication Flow Chart: Parents often feel frustrated when trying to communicate with school officials, only to be passed from one person to another without resolution. To help alleviate this, we encourage parents to familiarize themselves with the "Communication Process Flowchart." This chart will help you understand where to start and how to navigate the process when addressing concerns or issues with Stevenson staff.

Most times, reaching out directly to the staff member who is most involved will provide a quick and thorough response. As you move up the flowchart, the individuals involved may not be as directly connected to the issue, and they might require additional time to research and provide a response. If you do not hear back within two (2) school days, it’s perfectly appropriate to follow up before moving on to the next level in the flowchart.

We are committed to ensuring that your questions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Please start by communicating with the person closest to the issue, and if necessary, escalate the matter step-by-step according to the flowchart. Email is the most effective way to communicate, followed by phone calls. Please see the Titan Voice for the “Communication Process Flowchart”.

Stevenson Titan Athletes could use your help! We are in the process of redesigning our fieldhouse to create a space for all athletes to work out with state-of-the-art equipment better aligned to their personal athletic goals. While the district and the school are paying for items like HVAC, lighting and flooring, the boosters are raising funds for the equipment. To make this possible we are designing a seasonal program that will highlight our athletes and the businesses that support them!

    Sponsorship Opportunities

Our project aims to attract sponsors for new fieldhouse equipment. We offer five sponsorship levels with key benefits, including advertisement in the sports program. The goal is to create a sustainable program providing ongoing support and ensuring the success of our athletic programs.

    Fieldhouse Equipment

The new state-of-the-art equipment will benefit all athletic programs at Stevenson. The fieldhouse can accommodate multiple teams simultaneously, fostering a sense of pride among coaches, parents, students, and staff.

    How You Can Help

We need everyone's support to ensure this program's success. Here's how you can contribute:

To meet our goal to pilot our first ever program, we need all sponsor requests in by June 1. Here is a link to a form that will get the process started.

For any questions or feedback, please contact the Athletic Booster Club at

Stevensonathleticboosterclub@gmail.com  Thank you for your continued support!

ATTENTION – The school day ends at 2:14 p.m. Students must exit the building by 2:30 p.m. Any student who is staying after school must be under the supervision of a staff member, coach, or teacher. If practice is not immediately after school, students are expected to go home and return at their practice time. Also note that students are not allowed in the gyms at any time unless a coach or teacher is present.

No outside purchased food or drinks are permitted, students can get lunch/breakfast from the cafeteria, school store or bring a lunch.

ATTENDANCE When a student has accumulated 11 absences* in any one class over the course of a semester, the student will be notified in a meeting with an assistant/associate principal that they have lost credit in that class and that they are placed on an attendance contract to earn the credit back. There are two parts to a contract. First, the student must pass the class with a D- or higher. Second, the student will show improvement in attendance in ALL classes. Improvement is determined on a sliding scale which allows for 1 absence for every three weeks (rounded up) left in the semester for each class.

A reminder to all students, you are required to always wear your ID badge. Not only for security reasons, but because you need to scan them at lunch! So, please make sure you are wearing your ID badge around your neck.

STUDENT DRESS CODE Students must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the student handbook.

    • Indecent, tattered, or unsafe dress or footwear, or attire that calls undue attention to the wearer or has lettering or symbols that are disrespectful or derogatory are not allowed. • Beach wear, low-cut tops, tank tops, sleeveless tops, muscle shirts, see-through clothing, short skirts or shorts, pajamas, tight clothing without proper coverage and clothing exposing the shoulders or mid-section are not allowed. • Students should not wear clothing with inappropriate advertising like Playboy shirts or similar items. • Hats are not allowed in school unless explicit permission for a medical or religious reason is reached. • Knee length shorts and skirts are acceptable. Shoes must be worn. • Outerwear, such as coats and hats, is not to be worn in school. • Clothing that promotes illegal substances or drugs, illegal activities, violence, tobacco, or alcohol is prohibited. • Clothing or head coverings worn as group identifiers that promote a disruptive school climate are prohibited. • Clothing consistent with religious or cultural beliefs is acceptable. • Jewelry and accessories that may be deemed dangerous are prohibited.
