    Good Afternoon Titan Community,

It’s hard to believe how quickly the holiday season arrives! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s a great time to reflect on what we are thankful for. I am thankful for the amazing students, staff, and community here at Stevenson. I am proud of the hard work that continues to be done on a daily basis.

There is no school November 27 – November 29 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. This is the perfect time to recharge, enjoy quality time with loved ones, and savor the special moments of the season.

With only about four weeks left in the first semester, it's a great time to start preparing for the upcoming exams. First semester exams are just around the corner, and students will have the chance to showcase all the hard work they've put in.

Progress reports for the second marking period will be sent out via email on November 29, 2024. This is an important opportunity to review how students are doing and make any adjustments needed to finish the semester strong. Mid-term exams are scheduled for December 18, 19, and 20, with early dismissal at 10:24 am on these days.

Be sure to review PowerSchool regularly to ensure that your student is on track and to address any concerns before exams. Let’s stay focused and finish the semester strong!

The first exam is from 7:20 am – 8:49 am and the second exam is 8:54 am – 10:24 am.

    • Wednesday, December 18: 1st and 2nd hour exams
    • Thursday, December 19: 3rd and 4th hour exams
    • Friday, December 21: 5th and 6th hour exams

Remember the final grade for the first semester comes from 40% of the 1st quarter grade, 40% of the 2nd quarter grade, and 20% of the final exam. Any combination of 2 Fs will result in a final grade of an F. Students are encouraged to take advantage of Titan Time Tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as any help their teachers offer.

Titan Time Tutoring is now available for students on Tuesdays and Thursday from 2:15 – 3:15.

    Tuesdays –     Math – classroom C45

                            ELA – classroom A11

    Thursdays -     Science – classroom C39 on 11/21 and 12/12

                            Science – classroom C45 on 12/5 and 12/19

                            Social Studies/CTE – classroom A3

November 18-22 was National Apprenticeship Week.  Stevenson celebrated it on November 21 with the Schools to Tools Mobile Field Trip!  160 of our Career Technical Education students participated in the field trip featuring engaging hands-on challenges alongside dynamic virtual experiences that let our students step in to the world of the skilled trades.  Please see the Titan Voice for more information on this amazing field trip.

Parking Permits As the weather is getting colder and more students are driving, I would like to remind you of our parking permit policy. Per the parking contract your student signed, your student could lose their driving privileges for the following reasons:

    • Careless or reckless driving
    • Persistent disciplinary issues
    • Students who have accumulated 5 or more tardies and/or unexcused absences, may have their parking permit suspended. At that point, with responsible attendance, parking will be reevaluated.

If your student parks in the student parking lot after losing privileges, they will be suspended.

**Parking with no permit=stickered / Saturday School / Suspension

Please drive respectfully and safely, Officer Pawlik WILL issue tickets for driving recklessly.

Sophomore parking permits will be available to purchase on a first come first served basis. Starting December 13, students can submit their parking permit applications along with a copy of their driver’s license and current registration for each car listed to Mrs. Bartold in the Associate Principal’s office. Print the parking permit application from the Stevenson website’s home page under "Parent Quick Links." Permits can be purchased for $50 on PaySchools Central, cash (exact change please) or with a check or money order.

Parking permit applications can be printed from the home page of the Stevenson website under Parent Quick Links. This, along with a COPY of the student's driver’s license and a COPY of the current registration for each car listed, can be brought to Mrs. Bartold in the Associate Principal's office.

Please see the Titan Voice for more information regarding UCS Legacy of Learning.

A huge congratulations to our Associate Principal, Dave Ersig, on earning his Doctoral degree! This is an incredible achievement and a testament to his dedication, hard work, and commitment to education. We are lucky to have such an inspiring leader here at Stevenson. Dr. Ersig’s success is an example of what can be accomplished through hard work and dedication, and we celebrate this remarkable milestone with him!

Mark your calendar for this year’s Future Focus event. This event will take place at Henry Ford II High School on December 5. Don’t miss out on the exciting opportunity to explores post-secondary options and prepare for the future!

Hey Titans! Key Club is hosting its annual canned food drive this month, and we need your help! Cans will be collected during your 4th hour class and there are awesome prizes for the winning classes. To be eligible to win, your class must have at least 150 cans. The 1st place class will receive pizza and pop, 2nd place will receive cookies and milk, and 3rd place will receive candy!

Boxes will be dropped off in teachers' classrooms on November 25th and 26th and cans will be picked up on December 9th and 10th. Teachers whose class gathers a minimum of 150 cans will also be entered into a raffle to win a sub for any day of their choice, paid courtesy of Key Club. Key Club members - donate a minimum of 5 cans to receive an hour for every 5 nonperishable cans (maximum of 15 cans donated). Let’s gather as many cans as possible and show our Titan spirit! Good luck!

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT If you or your family are in need of any holiday assistance, please contact your students' counselor to discuss available support options.

The FAFSA application opens on December 1st. Counselors have been encouraging students to get ahead by creating their FAFSA ID now. Parents and students will each need their own FSA ID. See the Titan Voice for more information regarding FAFSA.

ATTENTION – The school day ends at 2:14 p.m. Students must exit the building by 2:30 p.m. Any student who is staying after school must be under the supervision of a staff member, coach, or teacher. If practice is not immediately after school, students are expected to go home and return at their practice time. Also note that students are not allowed in the gyms at any time unless a coach or teacher is present.

ATTENDANCE When a student has accumulated 11 absences* in any one class over the course of a semester, the student will be notified in a meeting with an assistant/associate principal that they have lost credit in that class and that they are placed on an attendance contract to earn the credit back. There are two parts to a contract. First, the student must pass the class with a D- or higher. Second, the student will show improvement in attendance in ALL classes. Improvement is determined on a sliding scale which allows for 1 absence for every three weeks (rounded up) left in the semester for each class.

A reminder to all students, you are required to always wear your ID badge. Not only for security reasons, but because you need to scan them at lunch! So, please make sure you are wearing your ID badge around your neck.
