    The Utica Community Schools website includes important information for all members of our community. UCS is committed to ensure all users can access the information contained on school and district sites.

    The district follows guidelines to ensure content is accessible to individuals with disabilities.  These pages conform to the W3https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/C WAI’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 that are listed on this link, Level AA conformance, or updated equivalents of those guidelines. 

    The district’s website is regularly evaluated to ensure that all users can access information. Utica Community Schools will also provide training to individuals who maintain district and school pages on posting information to meet federal guidelines for accessibility.

    After receiving the concern, the district will provide the content in alternate content and make the necessary changes to address the concern on its website.

    Formal Grievance Procedure

    A student, parent, or member of the public who wishes to submit a formal complaint or grievance may utilize the district’s established complaint procedures through the link contained below.

    This process is provided in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act and the Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act,

    If the complaint is related to website content, the district will provide content in a prompt manner.  Individuals sharing concerns should not have to wait for the investigation of the complaint to be concluded before receiving the information.
