Please gather the required documents before you begin this process for the most efficient enrollment experience.
Utica Community Schools offers two types of choice options to district families and non-resident families interested in our exemplary schools, please see below for the distinctions. After you complete the registration process, you will be asked to provide your new UCS school with the most recent report card to assist with grade and class assignment. School officials will contact your child's previous school for the complete transcript.

K-12 Schools of Choice
Students from Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, Lapeer and Wayne Counties are all eligible to enroll in UCS through Schools of Choice.
Once your student is enrolled through Schools of Choice, your child becomes part of our school community and there is no need to reapply.

In-District Transfers for current UCS residents
In-district transfers are closed for the 2024-25 school year.
In-district transfers are for families with a current UCS student who are interested in enrolling at a different district school.
In-district transfers are considered based on enrollment levels at each school. You can see schools and grade levels that are currently available at this link. In addition, the secondary schools that your child would attend follow as much as possible the attendance areas for Utica Community Schools. You can view the progression at this link.
Schools of Choice Application Periods

Second Semester 2024-25 Schools of Choice
The second semester in UCS begins January 6, 2025. Families interested in enrolling their students in UCS beginning in the second semester may do so through our Schools of Choice application process.
Second Semester enrollment is available for kindergarten through sixth graders only.
Applications will accepted January 6 through January 20, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

In-District Transfers
In-district transfers for the 2025-26 school year will open on January 6, 2025 and close on August 28, 2025.
