COUNSELING DEPARTMENT COMMUNICATION:
In addition to utilizing the counseling website, each student is enrolled in a Schoology Course, which can be accessed using the ClassLink page on a school-displayed laptop. Counseling information and news are sent to your student when important information is shared. Numerous resources are organized in topic-specific folders under the “Materials" tab. This is the fastest way to get information out quickly and efficiently to students. It is recommended that students check Schoology regularly.
Why do high school students meet their counselor? For various reasons, including post-secondary planning, scheduling, graduation requirements, course selections, Educational Development Plans, academic or personal concerns, vocational information, career exploration, college applications, etc. Whatever the issue, your Ford II counselors are there to help!
How do students make an appointment to see their counselor? Students can schedule an appointment by contacting their counselor via email or Microsoft TEAMs. Students are also welcome to stop in and see their counselor before or after school or in between class periods. Emergencies are given immediate attention.
How can Ford II’s parents contact a counselor? Parents can email or call their student’s counselor with questions or concerns. If a parent needs to speak to a counselor in person, they should call to make an appointment. Each counselor arranges their own appointments with parents by phone or by email. The counseling secretary is also available to assist parents and answer general questions.
